How can I redeem my FlixTrain free travel code?

    You were born in 2006 and have activated your KulturPass budget? Then you will receive a one-off free travel code for a FlixTrain journey (return journey) in the KulturPass app.

    The one-off code is valid for:
    •   Outward and return journey with FlixTrain (not FlixBus)
    •   Direct FlixTrain lines in the travel period until 31.12.2025
    •   Travel only, no extras (e.g. additional luggage)

    Please note:
    To receive the code, you need the latest version of the KulturPass app (from version 1.22) and the FlixTrain app.
    Advice: Plan your journey first and then download the code so that you can book directly, as the code is only valid for 48 hours. If the code expires, you will not be able to generate a new code. 

    How to use your free travel code


    1. Open your KulturPass app and log in with your access data. Now you have two options:
    2.a Click on the banner ‘FlixTrain. Get a free train journey’ at the top of your start page.
    2.b Or: Click on ‘Profile’ > ‘Mobility offers’ > ‘FlixTrain’.
    2.c Or: Enter "Flix" or "FlixTrain" into the KulturPass search bar.
    3. To redeem the code, you need the FlixTrain app, which you can download from the link shown or in the app store under ‘FlixBus & FlixTrain’ app.
    4. The code is only valid for 48 hours. If you are sure that you can redeem it within the next 48 hours, click on ‘Get code now’.
    5. You will now receive your free travel code and information on how to redeem it. You can copy your FlixTrain code using the two small boxes.
    6. Click on the button ‘Redeem the code in the Flix app’. You will now be redirected to the FlixTrain app. Alternatively, you can open the FlixTrain app yourself to redeem your code there.
    7. Select the desired route in the FlixTrain app.
    8. Click on ‘Train’ at the top and select a suitable outward journey.
    9. Then select a suitable return journey.
    10. Now enter your passenger details. Please note: If you book extras, you will have to pay for them yourself.
    11. Enter your free ride code from the KulturPass app in the ‘Voucher code’ field. If you have booked extras, select the payment method. Then click on ‘Redeem’.
    12. Check your booking details and make sure that your code has been applied. Then click on ‘Pay securely now’.
    13. You have completed the booking. You can find your ticket in the ‘Tickets’ section of the FlixTrain app.
    14. Have a good journey!

    Only one code can be used per person and booking. The free travel code is for personal use only and is non-transferable. You may be asked for your ID on the train.

    The voucher cannot be sold or paid out in cash. The standard terms and conditions of Flix SE apply.
