Unlocking the budget with your Sparkasse bank account (identification)

    Here you can find out how to activate your budget of 100 euros using the online banking access of your Sparkasse bank account.

    +++ The 2006 cohort will be able to activate their budget by 31 December 2024 and spend their KulturPass budget in 2025. +++ For the 2005 vintage, activation was possible until 31 December 2023. Their budget can be used until 31 December 2024. +++

    Information on the Sparkassen identification procedure


    To activate your KulturPass budget of €100, you need a current account with a participating Sparkasse and access to online banking. With this you identify yourself once. This identification procedure is used to check whether you fulfil all the requirements for the KulturP

    1.   Permanent residence in Germany
    2.   Year of birth 2006


    This is how identification with the online banking access of your Sparkasse account works

    Proceed step by step:

    1. Open the "KulturPass DE" app and log in with your access data (e-mail address and password).
    2. Click on the banner “Confirm your identity to receive your budget.” at the top of your start page.
    3. You will be informed which identification methods you can use to activate your budget. Click on ‘Identification via Sparkasse'
    4. Enter the sort code or name of your savings bank to check whether identification is possible. Select your savings bank and click on ‘Continue’. You will now be redirected to a page of your savings bank and guided through the identification process.
    5. Enter the login name of your online banking account and click on ‘Continue’.
    6. Enter the password/PIN of your online banking account and click on ‘Log in’.
    7. You will be asked to authorise via Push TAN. Carry out the authorisation and click on ‘Authorise’.
    8. Confirm that KulturPass is authorised to read your customer data.
    9.  You will be prompted again to authorise via Push TAN. Carry out the authorisation and click on ‘’Authorise‘’.
    10. You will be informed that the authorisation was successful. Click on ‘Back to the KulturPass app’.
    11. You have successfully identified yourself! Click on ‘Done’.

    You are now identified and can get started! It may take some time for your budget to be activated in the app.

    Please note: If you have identified yourself before your 18th birthday, your budget will be made available from your birthday.
